It is with both pleasure and pride I write to you as the new Headteacher of Broomgrove Junior School.
I am absolutely thrilled to be in this position and to have the opportunity to work with you to ensure that we build upon what we already do well as a school. Having worked closely with Mr Fuller for the last 3 years, it is extremely important to me that we continue the journey we have started, and create a school that we can truly be proud of.
As a school, we have so much to be proud of already and over the last few years we have worked tirelessly with the support of the children, governors and you, the parents, to move the school forward. However it is important that we continue to strive for even greater success. Every child has the ability to do amazing things - together we can make this potential a reality.
For those of you who know little about me, I live locally with my husband and my daughter, who attends the local secondary school. I also have 3 grown up sons so I know how important it is to establish a good relationship between home and school. I enjoy travelling, history, reading (including a variety of children’s texts) and music. Although, I have to confess having 4 children has left little time for any relaxation!
I am a committed individual - passionate about working with children - and believe in providing children with exciting, creative and meaningful learning experiences, which builds their enthusiasm for learning and helps them to grow and develop as an individual. I strongly believe achievement and enjoyment go hand in hand, and with this in mind I hope you will support our high expectations in all areas across our school.
Initially my main focus in school will be to ensure that all children are learning and making good progress, experiencing the highest quality teaching and learning within a happy, safe and secure environment. However for us to continue on with the next steps of our journey, I will be talking to the children about how they would like to see the school move forward.
Over the next few weeks you will be able to see me at the school gate, both in the morning and at the end of the school day, please do come and have a chat.
It now just remains for me to say once again how much I am looking forward to working with you and thank you for commitment and support towards the staff and pupils of Broomgrove Junior School.
Mrs L Sharpe
