Hello everyone, I am Mrs Gruender from Class 1. I am so pleased I got to meet you when I popped into your classes in March. I have been a teacher at Broomgrove Junior School for 3 years and I love finding new and exciting ways of teaching, like getting outside or being creative. As well as teaching, I enjoy walking, rowing, baking and trying new things. I have two grown up daughters who I love to visit and spend time with.
I am really looking forward to teaching you in Year 3!
Hello everyone, I am Mrs Munson. I have worked at Broomgrove Junior School for 13 years and I teach Class 2 on Thursdays and Fridays. As well as teaching, I enjoy growing vegetables on my allotment, running, knitting and reading. My favourite book when I was 8 was Anne of Green Gables. I live with my husband, 3 children and our naughty dog called Betsy! I am really looking forward to meeting you all.
Hello, I have worked at Broomgrove Junior School for 8 years and I teach Class 2 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Outside of teaching, my hobbies include cycling, running and learning to play the guitar. My favourite book when I was your age, (if I can remember that far back) was silly poetry like Revolting Rhymes by Roald Dahl. My favourite subjects are Maths and English. I have 2 children aged 9 and 11 and 2 bossy guinea pigs called Tilly and Dolly! I am really looking forward to meeting you all and introducing you to your new school.
During our Transition Meeting, I spoke about the website that you can use to access thousands of texts and digital books to read with your child. Here is the link to the website;
At Broomgrove Junior School we value feedback from our pupils. We contacted our current Year 3 pupils and asked them to tell us what they have most enjoyed about their first year with us. Here are their thoughts...
'Year 3 teachers are very kind and the subjects we do are very fun.' Safia
'The Junior School makes you feel more grown up because you learn a lot more things. I love learning French and ICT. I have enjoyed making new friends with the older children too.' Marcus
'I really like the trim trail and all the teachers are friendly.' Hollie
'I liked the Play Pod, it's a big shed with loads of unusual things to play with outside. There's a ginormous connect 4.' Dougie
