Year 4 Trip to Colchester Castle
On October 24th,Y4 had a fantastic trip to Colchester Castle. We learnt so much about the Romans in Britain and, in particular, about the history of our local area. We went down into the vaults,(all that remains of the Temple of Claudius), and were given a fascinating tour by our guide which really brought the past to life. Some of us constructed a Roman villa and some built a Celtic roundhouse. We looked at many original artefacts from that time when the Romans ruled our country.
Year 4 trip to Colchester Zoo.
In February, Y4 visited this brilliant zoo and studied a selection of the 260 animal species in this parkland. Feeding the lorikeets was an exciting experience and the baby rhino was a joy to see.We found out how penguins and sea lions are adapted to living in a particular environment and had an informative talk about 'Animal Adaptations' which prompted thoughtful questions about endangered creatures.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
